Acute pain, migraine and cannabinoids

Pain is an interesting phenomenon. It cannot be seen, nor proven, nor objectively measured. But we all know it and have felt it; pain is a deeply personal and subjective feeling. Acute pain has a surprisingly large impact on our lives and development. The sensation of pain has persisted through millions of years of evolution, improving the survival chances of many species.

These specific neurons are called nociceptors. Recently, a lot of research has supported the theory that pain is associated with inflammation, which means that the sensation of pain is also associated with an inflammatory reaction. This view of pain allows for different approaches to pain treatment, such that inflammatory processes are targeted as part of the therapy.

Medicine has relatively good approaches to treat acute pain, but chronic pain is a different story. This type of pain is quite complex for medicine, often unresponsive to medication, and patients find themselves in a situation where they cannot relieve the pain with the available medicines.
The sensation of pain is mediated by specific nerve fibres that carry pain impulses from the site of origin to the brain, where the perception of pain is influenced by a number of factors.

In addition to pain, migraine headaches can be accompanied by a pulsing sensation, nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light and sound, and general weakness. Both the symptoms and the processes leading to migraine headaches are significantly affected by cannabinoids. Neurogenic inflammation is a very important factor, affecting both the frequency and intensity of pain. Cannabinoids, as neuromodulatory and anti-inflammatory agents, have an important influence on this process. Cannabinoids can also effectively relieve pain and nausea.

How can the programme help you?

  • The programme consists of treatments and products that first help the body restore its biochemical balance or homeostasis. It is important to reduce inflammatory responses in the body (chronic inflammation) and to calm an over-stimulated nervous system.

  • Studies and clinical practice have confirmed that cannabinoids are remarkable anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory molecules that have been shown to work in a wide variety of conditions, including acute and chronic migraine headaches.

  • The approaches are designed to allow the body to restore biochemical balance at the cellular level, focusing primarily on balance in the nervous system (neurotransmitter and hormone release) and anti-inflammatory function

The program includes:
